Phone hacking is illegal. Paying the police for information is illegal. The News of the world has been sacrificed, an ex editor has been arrested, others have so far not been; for now. And other newpapers seem not to be investigated; for the moment.
But what of the spider at the centre of the web. Murdoch has jettisoned one of the oldest newspapers in the world in a cynical move. He hopes this is enough to deflect attention from himself and his friends.
Meanwhile his company, already controlling far to much of the UK and world media is about to get bigger. Would it be a surprise to hear he has avoided paying much corporation tax?
Dont let Murdoch controll BskyB. Instead gather evidence and hold News Internation to account, not just one newspaper. Why not one day arrest the dirty digger himself.

Quite simply because some decent level of suspicion/evidence would be needed for an arrest and to do so without it would be wrong.
Don't get me wrong (as usual) Adrian. If the evidence is there then the law must apply equally to all.
Talking of potentially guilty leading figures and their 'crimes',I wonder what is in the files on the Kelly case that have been locked away for 70 years. Would they implicate Tony Blair or someone else high up the food chain ? Will we ever know as this government seems determined to keep them secret ?
It's much bigger than Murdoch. It's about the police, the press as a whole and politicians. Don't let a desire to crucify Murdoch take your eye off the ball
As usual Howard you have gone off on a tangent. Dont bother commenting if you wont read what I have written.
thehoatzin, I implied in my post already that others were involved. Murdoch lead the way downhill, others followed.
"Why not arrest the dirty digger himself"............you pose the question ! when I suggest that there needs to be a good reason you get all upset.........get real, or do you want to live in a police state?
I thought you might have some thoughts on Dr Kelly, but it would seem not!
I guess that means that, for you, mentioning Dr Kelly is taboo. How come? If you want to arrest those at the top , why stop with Murdoch?
Still waiting for Howard to provide a link or some sort of credible evidence. This may take some time.
In my post I suggested that as head if news int its Murdoch that should be investigated. He is responsible for what happens not just Coulson and Wade. dible evidence. This may take some time.

I said "Quite simply because a decent level of suspicion/evidence would be needed for an arrest".
Where does that leave me the responsibility for looking for the evidence???
My guess is that the buck will stop with the editors ,past and present, who after all are responsible for the day to day running of the paper.
If the evidence appears that leads to the need to arrest Murdoch , then well and good, but I doubt that will happen.
Talking of having a long wait..........Is there a publication that is not 'right wing' in your eyes ? Easy question .....why no answer?
Howard if you want to be taken seriously then provide some evidence. I have made my case for Murdoch to be investigated. You have said nothing about Dr Kelly. I did talk about his death in earlier blogs, if you are interested look it up.
I have little interest in reading to national papers to see if they are right or left. In my opinion the All three parties are just to the right of centre and most newspapres back one of them. evidence. I have made my case for Murdoch to be investigated.
