Reading Green Party Local Results

I have done a little number crunching.

First the votes in Park, just look at the rise of the Greens. But look out for the LD, they came from nowhere to close to third.
Park Graph

Second, how Green were the various wards.
VOTES % WARD CANDIDATE
1849 38.9% Park Rob White
289 6.1 Caversham David Patterson
267 4.8 Thames Danny McNamara
264 6.6 Redlands Miriam Kennet
206 4.8 Abbey Mark Walker
203 4.7 Norcott Jenny Lawrence
187 4.2 Minster Sunil Ghandi

Finally; as the Council method of displaying the results is so poor (you have to open each ward separately) I have published them here.

I think you should show your graph as percentage of votes rather than numbers. Turnout was higher this time because it was the general election, so Labour's support didn't really increase this time, it actually dropped quite a bit. You might also find that Lib Dems support is fairly flat and the Tories support dropped a bit.

Great result - well done!

On the Lib Dems - basically they are back to where they were under Charles Kennedy except this time they came fourth not second - so I wouldn't get too excited by their result.

On typos - on my screen the graph is too wide for the column so you may need to shrink the graph down a bit (go into html, find the width number on the jpg and make it 400, ten delete the height number)

Cheers Jim, I will try but I don't know if it will work. I could look at these numbers for the next week.

Congratulations to Rob White and the Greens on your election victory.

I think what the percentages show is what I've picked up on the doorstep. The Tory and Labour vote in Park has collapsed and the Greens have so far capitalised. This time, however, the Lib Dems have also begun to take much of the local vote.

Put it this way: I wouldn't want to be Wazir next year!

Park really is the most exciting ward electorally in Reading.
