CAMRA

I support the CAMRA campaign for community pubs and real ale. I emailed CAMRA the following.

Our South East MEP Keith Taylor gave a beer award to The Jolly Anglers in Reading, noting “I think it’s important to support local pubs and the production of local beer and cider in the region. For this reason I have long supported the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in its mission to promote community pubs as a safe and sociable place to enjoy a pint. The Jolly Anglers is just such a place and I am proud to recognise it with this award.” http://reading.greenparty.org.uk/news1/green-mep-keith-taylor-presents-community-pub-award-to-reading-pub.html

Subject: Election 2015: Please support community pubs and real ale

Dear Adrian Windisch,

As a resident in your constituency I am writing to seek your support for community pubs and real ale ahead of the General Election on May 7th.

I am a member of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale. We are a consumer group with around 165,000 members and we act as the independent voice for real ale drinkers and pub goers. Our vision is to have quality real ale and thriving pubs in every community.

Beer and pubs play a crucial role in our local community and economy. However, many community pubs are in crisis and 29 are closing every week across the UK, with devastating consequences for community life and social cohesion.

Please therefore show your support for pubs and real ale by signing up to support the following three simple pledges ahead of the election:

· Support well-run community pubs
· Promote Britain's 1,300 Breweries
· Represent pub goers and beer drinkers

To add your support for these pledges, please contact the CAMRA Campaigns Team at campaigns@camra.org.uk or call 01727 798 447. CAMRA will be publishing a list of supportive candidates, and can provide you with a template press release and "I'm supporting CAMRA's manifesto for pubs and real ale" logo to promote your support locally.

The full manifesto is available here.

I trust I can count on your support.

Yours sincerely,
