While Greenpeace supporters celebrate the end of the third runway at Heathrow, the campaign goes on.

Theres a no 3rd Runway victory party which will be held in Sipson village (now saved from demolition) at the end of August. The villagers are keen to celebrate with everyone who helped to protect their homes from the bulldozers, so all are welcome. The exact date is still to be finalised.

As far as the campaign is concerned, we've won a great victory but with over 20 other airport expansion proposals across the country still to be decided, there remains a lot to do.

Greenpeace are keeping an eye on the most imminent decisions, such as those at Bristol and Lydd, and putting pressure on the government to reject the expansion plans. We'll let you know as soon as there's anything you can do to help. In the meantime however, email your MP, asking them to call on the new coalition government to make sure aviation and transport policy are brought properly into line with the climate change act.
