A CANALSIDE pub which closed its doors earlier this year could be close to reopening.
The Jolly Anglers on Kennet Side in Newtown was suddenly shut down in June by Enterprise Inns, who sold it on the condition it didn't reopen as a pub. But a deal's now been made with the new owners and West Berkshire brewery.
The Jolly Anglers in Kennetside has been the subject of a grass-roots and cross-party campaign after it closed suddenly in June when Enterprise Inns sold it.
But there are signs of a deal which could see the independent West Berkshire Brewery, based at Yattendon, take it on.

Actually thats what most politicians do most of the time, hardly newsworthy. I remember the LD and Tories booth claiming credit for stopping the one way IRD scheme, when it was a combination of all opposition groups and the public.
He also accuses Rob of jumping the gun. "Mr Wilson pre-emptively named the company which he says has already concluded negotiations, thereby putting a potential deal at risk".
