International Sunflower Guerrilla Gardening Day 2009 is upon us

Yes it's today. International Sunflower Guerrilla Gardening Day 2009 is upon us. It's really rather exciting! Nearly 1300 people are signed up which means thousands and thousands of sunflowers will be sown today, if they haven't been already (I couldn't resist and started a few weeks ago)... and don't worry, it's not to late to sow over the next few weeks in many places around the northern hemisphere.

Please take a photo of where you sow them, upload them to this event and let's stay in touch and share our sunflower's progress around the world.

Go go go! Sow sow sow!

I didn't know there was a specific day for sunflower planting but I love the idea so I planted some in the garden today and found some of last years sunflower head which I will take with me tomorrow when I travel to Colchester from Manchester; I intend to scatter them at random intervals from the car window. Watch out down the M6 and A1!!
