On Andrew Marr this morning David Cameron was asked if Scottish independence would see and end to our nuclear deterent. He avoided answering the question.
Currently our nuclear submarines are based in Faslane, Scotland. They could presumably be moved to another base in England but at considerable expense. Perhaps Devonport, near Plymouth, where the subs are at present dismantled.
If this is as difficult to answer as would seem by Camerons performance I am suddenly a fan of an independednt Scotland.
In an era of austerity lets see our pointless nukes cut.
Time for a real change.
