Asthma Pledge

Environmental pollution can make asthma symptoms worse and may play a part in causing some asthma. So reducing emissions will also help reduce those suffering from asthma. Reducing traffic is one of the ways to improve our air quality, and the Greens lead the way on this.

Asthma UK is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the 5.4 million people with asthma in the UK. We believe that by making three pledges, Prospective Parliamentary Candidates will begin a process which will lead to significant improvements in the lives of people with asthma in the UK.

Together we will act to ensure that:
everyone with asthma in the UK has access to a Personal Asthma Action Plan
every asthma death is fully investigated so the unacceptably high figure of three deaths a day is reduced
24/7 access to high quality primary care at first point of contact is a central feature of comprehensive asthma standards.

Vitamin D deficiency has been shown to be a major factor in asthma. The lastest study demonstrated a six fold reduction in asthma attacks for those on vitamin D. Take a look at www.vitaminD3world.com The site also has links to a new microtablet formulation of vitamin D.
