Crunch resistant, local and a community resource, the Credit Union is a good idea.
Reading Credit Union is successful and growing. So successful in fact that they need to move out of their current offices so that they can serve members even better!
They want to move into a shop front location close to the centre of town. This will not only make them more visible and easier to reach but will also provide better and more private office space.
This costs money! So they applied to the Big Lottery for a grant – and have been accepted to appear on television as one of the competitors for “The People’s Millions” appearing on ITV.
How we can help!
They will get the money for the new shop location if you vote for it as one of the contestants in "The People's Millions"! Please help by making a simple phone call to give your support.
You do not have to live in Reading to vote.
It seems unlikely, but within the rules to vote up to 10 times from any phone, so if you have a home phone and a mobile, you can give 20 votes!
Voting Day is Wednesday 26th November.
On the morning of 26th November, the telephone number to use for voting will be published in the Daily Mirror.
You could buy the paper on the day – or they can contact you to let you know the number.

UPDATE 2
I am very pleased to tell you that Reading Credit Union won the People's
Millions contest earlier this week, thanks to your support and help in
telephoning in to vote for us. We have won funds of £52,000 to open a
new shop / office for the Credit Union in the town centre, which will
allow us to reach a much larger audience.
Reading Credit Union would like to thank everyone who voted for them
very much for their support, and I would like to add a personal very big
